Speaker: Charles Beresford
Charles Beresford has 33 years of experience consulting, developing representing, importing and marketing for growers in the fresh and processed produce sectors in Canada and on an International level. In the mid-1990s, Mr. Beresford was responsible for developing the organic produce programs at Loblaw and Oshawa Foods/Sobey's now including consumer education.
The major produce categories which he has supported as an importer and advisor to growers and retailers, include mangos, papayas avocados, coconuts, asparagus and citrus. He has worked with a wide range of suppliers including producers and exporters from Brazil, Colombia, Cuba, Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, China and the USA.
Mr. Beresford has been retained since 2010 to be a Produce Associate Consultant for the Trade Facilitation Office of Canada and has worked on several produce and frozen produce projects.
He is currently working as Product Development Director for National Produce Marketing Inc, Implementing successfully his "Total Product Control Program" (TPCP), which is a Complete Field to Fork concept which includes IoT technology for Precision Agriculture to Optimize Quality, Productivity, Food Safety and Comprehensive Sanitation Protocols for Workers and Consumers in response to the current Corona Virus Pandemic.
