Tanzania: Tea Company Emerges Overall Second Best Exhibitor

AFRI Tea and Coffee Blenders (1963) Limited has emerged the second overall winner as best exhibitor at the ongoing Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF), an outstanding performance that signify the company's dedication to make coffee and tea products that meet international standards.


The company's head of marketing Mr Zachy Mbenna said in an interview at Sabasaba grounds that performance are deep rooted in the firms dedication on producing high quality goods to meet both local and international demands.


"Quality is one of the guidelines in the whole production process, with an ultimate goal of meeting the market demands," he said.


For example, the company has been creating awareness to retailers on how to keep secure the tea and coffee products in order to keep up its quality. The products have continued to earn international recognition with the company receiving more enquiries.


"The exceptional quality and genuine purity of Africafe make this an internationally acclaimed instant coffee," he added. Both traditional markets like the UK, Germany, Canada and the United States of America have been responding positively to the Afri Tea and Coffee Blenders products.


He said Africafe is the only packed instant coffee exported to Japan market from East Africa that is why we can claim Africafe to be Africa's Finest Coffee.


Also China is increasingly becoming the most important market for the Africafe products. Currently, he said there was reliable availability of raw materials particularly coffee after the interventions to prevent smuggling to the neighbouring countries.


The company sources its regular supplies from Lupembe Tea Estate in Njombe, Iringa region, where the finest high quality clonel tea is grown, and the Mponde Tea Factory in Lushoto, Tanga region, where the best teas of the different climatic conditions get the perfect blend.


Also, the company is getting supplies from Unilever Teas, EUTCO and Wakulima Tea Company. Africafe coffee is made from high quality Arabica and robusta coffee beans that give good, acceptable and satisfying Aroma and liquor strength.
