Peru is an emerging regional power which has gained the confident of widely important international partners such as the European Union, the country’s newly sworn-in Foreign Minister, Gonzalo Gutierrez Reinel, has said.

Gutierrez noted senior officials at Torre Tagle, headquarters of Peru's Foreign Ministry (MRE), are carrying out intensive efforts at all levels to have their fellow countrymen benefit from the Schengen visa waiver as soon as possible.
“This ultimate process constitutes a clear message to the world of the level of development and reliability achieved by Peru,” the high-level government official said on Monday, following the induction of three new members in the country’s council of ministers.
The June 23 swearing-in ceremony was held at the Government Palace in the nation’s capital Lima with the attendance of the head of Peru’s Administration Ollanta Humala Tasso who took the oath.
Furthermore, he stressed his sector is expected to continue with the ongoing integration policy with Latin America, in particular through the Pacific Alliance trade bloc, which groups Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Peru.
“This integration bloc is of the upmost importance for the Humala administration as it has a great outlook on boosting trade with major Asian-Pacific countries,” the top Andean nation diplomat told reporters from the nationwide broadcast TV Peru.
In this regard, Gutierrez pointed out Peru has built very close ties with the above-mentioned region through its currently in force Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with China, Japan and South Korea, while there are ongoing free-trade talks with Thailand and India.
