The Dominican Federation of Chambers of Commerce (FEDOCAMARAS) signed a memorandum of understanding with TFO Canada, the first Canadian supplier of information, advice and contacts for exporters in emerging markets and developing countries, which states that both entities, will implement and exchange programs to assist local producers as necessary so that they can export their products.
This memorandum seeks to boost the dynamics of promoting trade missions between the two nations, in addition to assuming the role of promoting good business practices, not leaving this function as a State responsibility only, but of all sectors involved in the development, according to what explained the president of FEDOCAMARAS, Maria Victoria Menicucci.
Menicucci, upon signing the agreement, emphasized that through the same she seeks to highlight the importance of international trade relations existing between the organizations and companies located in different countries or geographic areas, and what it represents in the economic development of the Dominican Republic.
The business leader said the agreement is to contribute a bit to the economic level since the national and international trade make countries prosper for the simple fact our producers specialize resources by focusing on what they produce best.
For his part the director of TFO Canada, Brian Mitchell, described as very important the signing of the agreement between the two entities, noting that one of the objectives of the Firm is to repeat the experience of the trade mission of the Dominican Republic that visited Canada at the end of July and it is already bearing fruit.
"The trade mission comprised of agribusiness companies, visited the cities of New York, Toronto, Ottawa and Montreal, coordinated by the Executive Director of FEDOCAMARAS, Mr. Dennis Suarez, together with the Chamber of Trade and Production of the province of Espaillat, have already started exporting to Canada, and this is the purpose of this agreement", said Mr. Mitchell.
The agreement was signed by Mrs. Maria Victoria Menicucci, president of FEDOCAMARAS and by the Executive Director of TFO Canada, Mr. Brian Mitchell. While Regis Batista, representative of the Department of Commerce of Canada in Santo Domingo and Simón Fernández, representative of the Investment and Export Center of the Dominican Republic (CEI-RD) signed as witnesses. The representatives of companies that participated in the Dominican Trade Mission who visited Canada last July were all present during the event.
