PROMPERU, Peru’s export and tourism promotion board, launched its Super Foods Peru brand Oct. 20 at the Produce Marketing Association’s Fresh Summit in New Orleans.
PROMPERU officials were on hand for a ribbon-cutting to open the group’s 1,080-square-foot booth, where show attendees could sample chicken causa with avocado alioli; ceviche; surf and turf anticucho; mango mousse with chocolate dirt; blueberry mousse with toasted quinoa; and pisco sours and learn more about the country’s fresh produce and superfoods, according to a new release.
“North America is one of our main markets and this event is very important for us, because it allows us to complete the launch of the Super Foods Peru brand, while simultaneously beginning a new phase, the activation phase, directed to both the retail and the final consumer, in conjunction with Peru’s commercial offices in North America,” Victor Sarabia, spokesman and coordinator of the agribusiness department for PROMPERU, said in the release.
