Indonesia's exports logged a double-digit expansion in December, figures from the Central Statistics Agency showed Monday.
Exports increased 15.8 percent year-on-year to $13.77 billion in December, bigger than the expected growth of 14.1 percent.
At the same time, imports grew 5.8 percent annually to $12.78 billion. Economists had expected only 3.4 percent increase.
Month-on-month, exports gained 1.99 percent and imports climbed 0.88 percent in December.
The trade surplus totaled $990 million in December compared to the expected surplus of $902 million.
