Small and medium sized enterprises from around the world convened in Lima to discuss trade.
Peru’s economy took a turn for the better in June with a recorded growth of 3.87%, signaling a positive horizon for business and trade within the region and abroad.
A meeting of small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) took place in Lima last weekend, gathering representatives from Arequipa, Junin, Loreto, Madre de Dios, Ucayali and Lima regions, reports Andina news agency.
The Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) was in attendance and ran the event, Industria Perú 2015, in collaboration with the Mincetur-run Trade Offices abroad (OCEXs) and Peru’s Export and Tourism Promotion Board (PromPeru).
This year, the event saw attendance increase by 73% compared to the same period last year; and an additional 44% of interested buyers in comparison with last year as well.
About 130 buyers from the US, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Czech Republic, Germany, Spain, Bolivia, Colombia and Panama attended the event, said Mincetur Minister, Magali Silva, according to Andina.
The purchasers and buyers discussed cosmetics, electrical materials, construction finishing materials, food industry equipment, wood products, mining supplies and medical equipment and material, reports Andina.
