Tanzania: Tantrade to Hold Business Matchmaking in DarThursday, July 02, 2015 > 09:33:56
LOCAL entrepreneurs will have an opportunity to meet representatives of foreign firms participating at the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF) in a business matchmaking event to be organised by the Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TANTRADE) on Thursday.
TANTRADE Director General Ms Jacqueline Maleko said in Dar es Salaam that there are more than 400 foreign firms taking part at the DITF and most of them will be represented at the business to business meeting tomorrow at the Julius Nyerere International Conference Centre.
"It is high time to end the culture of participating in the trade fair to buy and sell products, instead it should be an opportunity to meet other business people who have excelled in businesses," she said.
The business to business meetings are intended to provide a one to one opportunity to companies' traders to meet with other companies interested in receiving or supplying the same products or services offered by the other side. "This opportunity comes once in a year.
Thus the local business community should capitalise on the opportunity in order to boost their businesses," she said.
Some of the investment opportunities that could be gained include contacts with packaging and packaging technology suppliers, gemstone processing technology, alternatives in renewable energy and environmentally friendly production, bee farming, agriculture, marine and maritime sector stakeholders.
