Sri Lanka: Construct 2015 with foreign participation in August

Construct 2015will take stage with larger foreign participation during August 28-30 at the BMICH. Construct 2015 the most sought after exhibition takes off the ground under the theme “Build Your Dreams” for the 15th consecutive year.The National Construction Association of Sri Lanka( NCASL) organizes the event as the premier construction related exhibition in Sri Lanka. The Construct exhibition has emerged as the leader and the best platform for all construction-related products and services to be displayed in Sri Lanka.

“Construct 2015” is considered the most suitable stage to display the latest developments of the construction-industry to the public. Sunil P Liyanarachchi, Chairman, NCASL making the welcome speech said getting the Construction Act passed in Parliament last December was a great achievement to the industry and according to its provisions it is compulsory to use high quality goods and services which is listed in the Bill for building and construction activities.Liyanarachchi also alleged in the open forum held subsequently that Rs1.5 billion was yet to be settled to contractors of Mahindodaya 1,000 schools project conducted by the previous government. Ranji Hewage, Secretary NCASL said they however managed to get Rs 500 million released after discussions with the government just before New Year in April but another Rs1.5 billion is yet to be settled.

This year there are around 350 local and foreign stalls including each and every sub industry related to construction Industry viz goods and service providers, representatives from banks, insurance companies and landscaping .Pavilion will be separately allocated to Chinese, Malaysian,German and Indian suppliers.


Sri Lanka can expect a boom in construction due to the recent changes of the government policies, which attracted the attention of the Western and the Eastern countries alike.

“Construct 2015” is a one stop shop and the potent meeting ground of the industry leaders, stakeholders and all other players related to the industry. The cutting edge construction-related products, technology and services will be focused and as in the past have also included novel and the very latest global trends to enlighten the spectators on what is new in the Construction Industry. The exhibition is expected to draw large crowds due to its increasing popularity and cutting edge standards maintained during the last 14 years.

EMP Group has volunteered to be the Principal Sponsor of this mega event demonstrating the effectiveness of the exhibition. Alumex has come forward to become the main sponsor of the event for the second time while Senok Trade Combine Ltd is the main sponsor of the show.

Swedish Trading Company Ltd, is the co-sponsor and Nippon Paint, Elcardo, Telesonic Lanka, Prime Lands, SLT Rainbow Pages are the other official sponsors of this event.
