Cambodia's trade volume with foreign countries was valued at 4.75 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of 2015, a 6.5-percent rise from 4.46 billion U.S. dollars in the same period last year, the Ministry of Commerce said on Tuesday.
During the January-March period this year, the country exported products in equivalent to 2.14 billion U.S. dollars, up 7.5 percent from 1.99 billion U.S. dollars over the same period last year, the ministry said, adding that garment export accounted for 80 percent of the country's total export.
On the import side, the Southeast Asian nation shipped in goods worth 2.61 billion U.S. dollars in the first quarter of this year, up 5.6 percent from 2.47 billion U.S. dollars in the same period last year.
Main products Cambodia exported were garment, footwear, and milled rice, as it imported mainly garment and shoe raw materials, petroleum, construction materials, automobiles and motorcycles.
Cambodia's major trading partners are European countries, the United States, China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.
