The 18th International Agricultural Fair, Fiagrop 2015, will open officially in the exhibition area in Rancho Boyeros, in the presence of 74 companies, 26 of them foreign firms.
Many of those firms, from Germany, Portugal, Spain, Canada, Poland, Paraguay, Uruguay, the United States, Argentina and Bolivia, are exhibiting products and inputs demanded by the Cuban agricultural food industry.
According to organizers, about 12 foreign companies more than the previous edition are present in Fiagrop 2015.
The event brings together the Ministries of Agriculture and Food Industry, as well as Sugar Business Group Azcuba, to expand the number of companies attending this trade fair, and seek integration of those sectors without abandoning its traditional livestock event.
The relaunch of the sector's business portfolio with 11 foreign investment projects is among its new features, and is considered a time to grow in the development of the Cuban agriculture, for trade, experience and knowledge exchanges, and the rich flow of activities and competences.
Fiagrop has maintained the traditional national and international championships Rodeo and Coleus, competitions of riding and techniques of milking cows, buffaloes, goats, exhibition of the best examples of virtually all commercial animals in the country.
The event started its collateral activities on Saturday, March 14, with auctions of equine and porcine animals, as well as manual milking contests and other skills developed by farmers and other people engaged in agricultural work.
