Indonesia International Furniture Expo 2015 Kicks off on March 12th
From 12 to 15 March, the Indonesia International Furniture Expo 2015 (IFEX 2015) will be held in the Jakarta International Expo, Jakarta’s largest exhibition venue. This year’s furniture expo is set to become the largest furniture expo ever organized in Indonesia, Southeast Asia’s largest economy. Around 470 companies, furniture manufacturers from all over Indonesia, will display their products (export-quality), including collections of furniture, furnishings and interior design items. The event is organized by Dyandra UBM Internasional.
The Indonesia International Furniture Expo 2015 provides visitors access to the largest range of Indonesian specialty furniture, particularly those who seek to furnish commercial properties with original, exotic, and unique furniture and furnishings. Having a large natural forest, Indonesia possesses large potential due to the abundance of raw materials (wood, bamboo, teak and rattan) and human resources (long tradition of craftsmanship often using traditional techniques for a contemporary interpretation of classic cultural designs).
The IFEX 2015 also includes various seminars and conferences from a number of institutions engaged in the furniture manufacturing sector, informing about issues including the sourcing of sustainable raw materials and Indonesia’s furniture export procedures. A new addition to this year’s fair is the ‘Hall of Excellence’, an exhibition which displays only the highest quality furniture products. Organizers of the event expect to see more than 7000 international buyers from 110 countries at the IFEX 2015.
The IFEX 2015 is organized by Dyandra UBM Internasional, a joint venture between UBM Asia (a leading exhibition organiser in Asia and the largest commercial organiser in China, India and Malaysia) and Dyandra Media International (Indonesia’s leading exhibition organizer). The exhibition is hosted by the Indonesia Furniture and Craft Association (AMKRI) and supported by Indonesia’s Ministry of Trade and Ministry of Industry.
The official website of the exhibitions states that “Indonesia has achieved one of the largest increases in shipments among the Asian furniture source countries. The Indonesian furniture industry is confident of achieving its export target of USD $5 billion within the next four years”.
