Ethiopia to Host Textile Exhibition

Ethiopia is going to host Origin Africa/Africa Sourcing and Fashion Week (ASFW) 2015 from Wednesday, October 21 to Friday, October 23, 2015 at the Millennium Hall. The event is one of the biggest textile and garment events in the entire African continent.

Origin Africa 2015 is going to be organized in collaboration between three organizations; African Cotton and Textile Industries Federation (ACTIF),Trade and Fairs East Africa (TFEA) and East Africa Trade and Investment Hub (EATIH). The event was organized at Nairobi, Kenya last year.

According to the event organizers, the event is expected to be attended by over 200 exhibitors. The y furthered, the event will highlight the creativity and innovation of the African cotton, textile and clothing industries, with a specific focus on business, trade and investment both regionally and internationally while capturing the spirit, style and innovation of modern Africa.

Last year’s Origin Africa was held in Nairobi, Kenya in November 2014. The exhibition was a high profile, international event where 400 participants took part of. The exhibitors where from 11 different counties.

This year’s event is going to last for three days and it is going to include trade exhibition, conference, business to business (B2B) meetings and a fashion designer exposition. According to the Organizers, the exhibition will have a section for cotton fiber, textile and export ready apparel industries, machinery and technology, home textile and décor and a brand new beauty section.

There will also be a special B2B meetings that will organized for buyers to meet procurement officers where they will set their own needs and topics, while investors on the other hand will have meeting set at their offices to discuss both local and foreign investments.

In addition to this, the conference will also discuss on issues that emphasize on the interest of the buyers and investors. This includes financial Institution packages for investment development; the manufacturer’s challenges, involvement of government support and the role of associations.
