Cambodia's trade volume with foreign countries rose by 16 percent year on year in the first eleven months of 2014, according to data from the Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday.
The data showed that the Southeast Asian nation's total trade volume was valued at 16.61 billion U.S. dollars during the January- November period this year, up 16 percent from 14.32 billion U.S. dollars over the same period last year.
The country exported products in equivalent to 7.05 billion U.S. dollars, up 12 percent year-on-year as it imported goods in a total amount of 9.56 billion U.S. dollars, up 19 percent year-on- year.
Garment and footwear items accounted for more than 80 percent of the country's total exports. Its main trading partners are European countries, the United States, China, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore and Malaysia.
A commerce official attributed the growth to Cambodia's better economic condition and trade expansion with other countries.
