Peru To Attract Overseas Funding For BusinessFriday, November 21, 2014 > 07:43:56
Peru's Foreign Affairs Ministry has signed an agreement with the five most important entrepreneurial associations of the country to support small or medium-sized businesses seeking for foreign funding.
The agreement, signed Monday, is designed to engage Peru's 129 Embassies to attract foreign investment by identifying and motivating potential foreign investors seeking to associate with the national small or medium-sized enterprises.
"The Peruvian small or medium-sized enterprises are true engines of new initiatives, but many times they don't reach enough level of funding needed to develop," Foreign Affairs Minister, Gonzalo Gutierrez said.
"Therefore this covenant has been created," he explained.
Gutierrez considered the business associations will be the ones "in charge" to determine, which are projects are viable. Those will be submitted to Chancellery. Embassies will continue the investments attraction process.
The work will be jointly done by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism's trade offices located in overseas, and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"We will work together with all the trade offices located abroad, in order to attract, as much as possible, foreign business. We will use all of Peru's potential, so more investors will be interested in Peruvian small or medium-sized enterprises," he indicated.
