Cuba will present its business portfolio to foreign investors visiting the 32nd International Fair of Havana (Fihav 2014) announced today Rodrigo Malmierca, president of the Organizing Committee of the event scheduled to open on November 2.
The also Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, said they expect a similar attendance to the previous edition which had representatives of over 60 nations. Organizers await 28 trade delegations, government and institution officials.
Malmierca said participation is exceeding the roofed space available and they will have to expand to outdoor areas in order to exhibit all products.
Abraham Maciques, of the Organizing Committee, indicated that in the previous fair, there was an exhibition area of 18 thousand 300 square meters, and the upcoming expo will be larger confirming one of the most important trade fairs in the region and other world zones.
Brazil and Italy are the countries growing in space in Fihav 2014. For instance, Brazil will occupy over a thousand square meters, compared to 700 a year ago.
Venezuela, China and Russia occupy a larger area, as this island´s main trading partners.
Maciques extolled that over two thousand exhibitors will present their products at the fair. On his part, Orlando Hernandez, president of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce said that the Central Pavilion will have all its space dedicated to 300 Cuban enterprises and for the first time, its stands will include one dedicated to the Special Development Zone of Mariel and another to the Containers Terminal.
He also referred that delegations from 46 Chambers of Commerce and organizations to promote this activity will attend the Fair. Bilateral business sessions like one of Cuba-China and other forums with Portugal, Hungary and the Caribbean will be held simultaneously.
