Get Inspired at Garden & Floral Expo!Tuesday, July 29, 2014 > 10:07:21
Registration for Landscape Ontario's Garden & Floral Expo, including the Inspired Design Day presented in partnership with Canadian Florist, will open on Aug. 1.
Garden & Floral Expo will take place Oct. 22 and 23 at the Toronto Congress Centre in Toronto. During Expo, people from all sectors of the green industry will come together to network, share expertise, establish new business contacts and browse the products that will be in demand come spring.
"The spotlight for the 15th anniversary edition of the show is brightly focused on the plants, flowers, exquisitely designed displays and educational opportunities that will inspire your retail marketing and help you create a better shopping experience for your customers," said Heather MacRae, director of events and trade shows for Landscape Ontario. "Expo is renowned for its stunning trade show displays, Euro-style lighting and merchandising ideas you can recreate in your own store or garden centre. It is the place to discover new ideas, tools, products, services and connections that will help your business grow."
For the first time, Expo will also feature Inspired Design Day. This new feature, presented by Canadian Florist in partnership with Landscape Ontario, is aimed at inspiring florists to grow their businesses. Join us on Oct. 22 for a demonstration of "Winter Florals That WOW" customers. In the afternoon, catch all the action as five talented designers compete in the Inspired Design Contest - Live, racing against the clock to transform mystery product into a design worthy of the Inspired Designer title in just 20 minutes.
"Inspired Design Day offers a fantastic opportunity for floral designers to come together and share new ideas that can carry them through the holiday season and beyond," said Brandi Cowen, editor of Canadian Florist magazine. "It's also the perfect place to celebrate the wealth of creative talent in our industry and build stronger relationships with other floral professionals in a fun and relaxed setting."
Designers interested in competing in the Inspired Design Contest should submit a brief note outlining their floral design experience and a minimum of three images of their work for consideration. All material should be submitted to Brandi Cowen by September 26, 2014, at email@example.com.
Inspired Design Day is sponsored by Oasis Floral Products, Rosa Flora Ltd. and Royal Flowers.
