Minister Fast and Secretary Domingo underlined the addition of the Philippines to the list of Canada’s development countries of focus. On Minister Fast’s invitation, the Philippines took part in an Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) delegation visit to Canada from June 1 to 5, 2014, showcasing Canadian expertise and opportunities in supply chains, to grow the Canada-ASEAN trade and investment partnership, with stops in Vancouver and Toronto.
Continuing previous productive exchanges, Minister Fast and Secretary Domingo explored opportunities to further increase bilateral trade and discussed Canada’s position in the Asia-Pacific region.
Minister Fast is leading a trade mission to the Philippines on July 21 and 22, 2014, focusing on opportunities in the agriculture, defence, information and communications technologies and sustainable technologies sectors, to promote greater trade, job creation and prosperity both at home and abroad.
