Speaker Profiles

Peter Nesbitt: will be highlighting important success stories and key success factors for women in India.  Mr. Nesbitt has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He joined EDC in 2003 as Regional Manager of South and Southeast Asia and in 2005 relocated to New Delhi where he became EDC's first Chief Representative to India.  He was appointed Regional Vice-President, South and Southeast Asia in 2008.    

In 2009 he relocated to Singapore and was appointed Regional Vice-President for Asia. He oversees EDC's international business development team of professionals based in Beijing, Shanghai, Mumbai, New Delhi, Singapore and Ottawa.  Prior to joining EDC, Mr. Nesbitt worked internationally for Scotiabank.  Mr. Nesbitt holds an MBA from Dalhousie University and a Political Science degree from Carleton University.

Alison Nankivell: will share her personal observations on success factors for both local and expatriate women in China, in entrepreneurial and managerial fields.  She will also compare and contrast decisive differences between India and China.  Ms. Nankivell has specialized in the business climate in Asia for over 21 years.  She has lived in both Hong Kong and Beijing and managed fund investments in China, India and Southeast Asia. She joined EDC as Regional Manager, China in 1998.

In August 2011, she was tasked with the oversight of EDC's global fund investment program. Ms. Nankivell has an undergraduate degree in business and economics from the University of Toronto and a Masters in Public Policy and Economics from the London School of Economics and Political Science. She has also obtained her Charter Financial Analyst Designation.
