Description

The India Trade Promotion Organisation is organizing the 31st edition of India International Trade Fair (IITF) in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi from November 14-27, 2011.  This annual mega event has over the years showcased India’s industrial progress and has become a market place for projecting the country as a worthy global trade destination with a high potential market of over one billion consumers.

The event is highly effective in showcasing achievements and technological advancements covering a wide range of products and services related to engineering, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, leather, textiles, jute, telecommunications, rubber, handicrafts, processed food, jewellery and consumer goods, etc.  Ever since its inception in 1980, this multi-product fair has evolved into a platform for facilitating trade transactions and technological absorption over a wide spectrum of industry

The first 5 days (November 14-18, 2011) of the Fair are exclusive earmarked for business visitors.  The Fair is open to general public from November 19-27, 2011.  

IITF’2011 is likely to attract over 7,500 exhibitors along with participation from 50 countries in an area of 1,200,000 sq.mtrs.  To mark its 31st year, this mega event will have special theme to highlight the  Indian Handicraft- the magic of the gifted hands.   Concurrent specialty pavilions include TECHMART: Products & Technology by SMEs; SARAS: Arts & Crafts by Rural Artisans; BUILD-TECH: Eco-friendly Building Technology and HANDICRAFTS: International Exposition of Indian Handicrafts.  

The last edition of the fair witnessed a huge turnover of over 1.2 million general visitors and 300,000 business visitors including 604 Commercially Important Persons from almost 90 countries across the globe.  The visitor profile covers leaders of trade and industry, foreign dignitaries, decision makers, policy makers and opinion makers.

An International Business Lounge  will be set up near Gate No. 2 located on Bharon Road to facilitate the visit of international visitors and provide them facilities like free entry in the Fair ground, parking facility, cyber care, banking facility, escorted visit to different halls by trolleys/cars and light refreshment.  This lounge will be operational during the entire currency of the Fair i.e. from November 14-27, 2011.
