Description

INVEST IN JAMAICA: Toronto Forum is currently being planned to take place in Toronto, on June 23, 2011 at the Delta Chelsea Hotel downtown (3rd floor in the Wren Room, 33 Gerrard Street West) commencing at 8:30 a.m.

The Forum is being hosted by Jamaica Promotions Corporation (JAMPRO) as a part of its key mandate to increase investment into Jamaica. Through this event, business executives will be provided with unique and productive access to Jamaica’s government, multinational success stories, domestic businesses and globally recognised investment prospects.

Jamaica's Minister of Industry, Investment and Commerce, the Honourable Karl Samuda, will be speaking on Jamaica's macroeconomic climate and investment opportunities across various sectors. Additionally, breakout roundtable discussions will be held with key Government officials featuring a slate of public and private projects in Information and Communications Technology (ICT), Manufacturing, Logistics and Infrastructure. Special emphasis will also be placed on investment opportunities related to divestment and privatization such as the Caymanas Economic Zone (CEZ), the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) and select Government divestment projects.

Three breakout sessions will also be held right after the main presentation focussing on: opportunities in ICT (targetting small to mid-tier BPO operations looking at outsourcing opportunities), manufacturing (targetting metal fabrication, electronics assembly, plastics and agro-processing) and logistics and infrastructure (targetting airport and industrial park development). There will also be limited opportunities for one-on-one ministerial meetings with potential investors between June 22-24, 2011.
