Program Highlight - Best Practices of Global Customs Risk Management - Tuesday, April 24th
Risk management has emerged among global traders as a primary objective of corporate import functions, and companies are increasingly undertaking efforts to proactively manage customs risks on a coordinated, global basis. This presentation will report on the findings from the 2006 Ernst & Young Global Customs Best Practices Symposium: key executives from a wide range of industries explored what global proactive risk management of the import functions looks like in practice, and identified leading practices. By attending this session, you will learn how globalization has increased customs risk and amplified the burden of regulatory and corporate compliance. The session will also outline steps companies can take to manage their global customs risks more effectively.
Topics include:
- Global risk assessment models and methods
- Managing jurisdictional diversities
- Impact of business change activities on customs risk
- Auditing and monitoring activities
Speaker: William (Bill) Methenitis, Americas Director, Customs & International Trade, Ernst & Young LLP
